This evening we welcomed five new volunteers, whose orientation finished just as we opened the doors to a line of women eager to come in for a delicious meal of lasagna, garlic bread, and chocolate cake (thanks, Maria!), a chance to sit and visit with friends, and the opportunity to make jewelry. Volunteers from UpstARTpdx once again set out a feast of creativity in Jenkins Hall. The jewelry-making has been a big hit. As one of our volunteers said: "It's creative, it's crafty, it's girly, it's fun....the things everyone likes, which these women never get to enjoy."
