What
is Rahab's Sisters?
Rahabs Sisters provides compassionate hospitality and a supportive
presence to women marginalized by the sex industry, substance abuse,
and homelessness. We welcome them without judgment, just as they
are, no strings attached, no questions asked. Our mission is to
respond to our sisters in a servant spirit and to improve their
lives through the following long-term strategies:
- Provide an opportunity for sisters to ask questions
- Provide an open door for support
- Educate and communicate the "story" to broad audiences
We gather on Friday nights at Saints Peter & Paul Episcopal
Church on Southeast 82nd Avenue (between Stark and Burnside), from
7pm - 10pm. We serve women of all faiths and women of no faith,
offering food, hot coffee, health items, and--where appropriate--prayer.
Like the original Rahab,
we strive to give "friendly welcome" to those who would
otherwise be on the streets and in danger.
Who
are Rahab's Sisters?
We are a growing group of womenclergy and lay, Episcopal and
non-affiliatedwho are committed to continuing the ministry
of Jesus in the world by providing hospitality and friendship to
women who are among the poorest and most marginalized in our city.

How
can I support Rahab's Sisters?
There are many ways that individuals and organizations can support
Rahab's Sisters.
- Financial Support
Cash donations are needed to cover costs of security, food, health
items, and transportation vouchers for those we serve.
- Food
We try to serve a high-protein, hot meal to the women who come
to us. You or your organization might like to provide a monthly
or quarterly meal, or donate staples such as coffee or sugar.
- In-kind donations
We are always in need of personal items such as tampons, toothbrushes,
toothpaste, and new underwear. We may also develop a need for
good quality womens clothing, particularly outerwear.
- Time
There are a variety of volunteer opportunities for women who would
like to participate in this ministry. For more information, please
contact one of us or download the volunteer
application. The document is in Adobe PDF format and you will
need the free Adobe Acrobat Reader.
